YOUR MOBILE KNEE
Your knee is a mobile, complex joint, which has the ability to
bend and rotate slightly. Knee ligaments help control motion by
connecting bones and bracing the joint against abnormal types
of motion. Other parts of your knee, like cartilage, serve to
cushion your knee, or help it absorb shock during motion.
ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT (ACL)
Your ACL crosses from the back of your femur to the front of your
tibia. Although it acts like a strong brace for your knee, the
ACL is injured more often than the PCL because it's smaller and
more susceptible to twisting.
