Repicci II General Info

You will be out of bed walking within 2-3 hours after surgery. Upon discharge from the hospital you will be walking with the assistance of a walker and will be wearing a knee immobilizer.

You will discontinue wearing the knee immobilizer on the 2nd day after surgery.

Generally walking and bending the knee is good, pain or discomfort will limit your activity.

You may discontinue using the walker when you feel comfortable, on the average within one week (may use a cane if desired).

You may go up and down stairs as needed but only 'straight legged' for the first 2 weeks. After 2 weeks enough flexibility should be established to bend the knee while going up or down stairs.
